A breakfast just isn’t the same without a steaming slice of toast or two. Here are some mouth-wateringly delicious breakfast ideas to rejuvenate you and give you loads of energy for your day.

Sunny Side Up

Method

  1. Using a sharp knife, cut the bread into the shape of a house and cut out the center of each slice of bread as shown. Reserve the cut out pieces for garnish.
  2. In a frying pan, melt butter and sauté the bread on one side until golden brown.
  3. Turn the bread over; melt a little more butter in the center of the cut out in the bread.
  4. Break an egg into the center of the cut out and season to taste.
  5. Cover the frying pan with the lid and cook the egg for 2 minutes or until the egg is cooked to your liking.
  6. Fry the cut out shape of bread until golden brown and cut into matchsticks. Repeat for the other slices and eggs.
  7. Serve with pieces of grilled bacon and mushrooms.

  • Butter or margarine
  • 6 Eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 rashers Bacon (optional)
  • 12 Mushrooms, pan fried (optional)
