Seared tuna, cream cheese and tomato salsa sandwich

Method

  1. Whisk all marinade ingredients with a whisk and then marinade fresh tuna for at least 1 hour.
  2. Cook tuna in a pan over very high heat just sealing the outside leaving the centre of the tuna rare.
  3. Once cooked, slice the fish. Cut the salsa ingredients and mix. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Take two slices of bread and spread each slice with creamed cheese.
  5. Top both slices with watercress and then the cooked tuna. Close sandwich with the remaining slices.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Sasko Traditional Whole Wheat
  • 250g fresh tuna steak
  • 1 packet watercress
  • 1 tub smooth creamed cheese

Tuna marinade

  • 50ml olive oil
  • 20ml honey
  • 30ml sweet soya sauce
  • 10ml crushed ginger
  • 1 tsp chillies, chopped
  • 15ml chopped coriander
  • 30ml sweet chilli sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Salsa:

  • 1 avocado, finely chopped
  • ¼ red onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ pineapple, finely chopped
  • 12 large rosa tomatoes, each cut into 8 cubes
  • 30ml coriander, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • lemon juice from a ¼ lemon
